When you go to a blog or website for advice on how to remodel your small bathroom, you will get answers pertaining to lighting, color, and so on. Those answers are quite effective, but you probably read them somewhere before. This write-up will not discuss about those topics. Rather, it will give you other ideas that you can consider. Do not worry though, the ideas stated here are not expensive and can be done easily with the help of a trusted contractor, or even your husband who loves DIY projects.
Every bathroom needs a storage area where you can put tissue paper, towels, etc. However, a cabinet that is very large can be claustrophobic, especially if your bathroom is smaller than the average. With that in mind, it is important to use hanging, or floating shelves that will serve as your storage space. Not only does it look better, it also gives a more spacious appearance. If you have budget and do not want to use this technique, then go for built in cabinets instead.
Sink and Shower
The position of your shower is very important. If you place it in the middle, then rest assured that it will consume more space than you intend to. For that reason, have it installed in the corner. This will give you more leg room to move around. If you own a bathtub, do not fret because there is still a solution aside from placing it in the corner. You can opt for a pedestal sink instead to complement the bulk of your tub.
Not all realize the importance of doors when it comes to the bathroom space. Upon opening an ordinary door, you would have to swing it forward, thus consuming several feet of space. Because of that, it is always better to utilize a pocket or sliding door for the bathroom. You no longer have to dedicate space for them to swing open, giving you a larger bathroom in the process, plus it looks very unique and inviting.
Having a small bathroom is not a problem at all if you know how to remedy it. When doing the following advice, do not forget to change the lighting, use mirrors, and brighten the color of the bathroom walls as these are essential in making the area look larger than it really is.
